Ways to give

Endowment

The endowed funds entrusted to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation help ensure that the scholarship programs and facilities on the 80-acre Rocket Center campus continue to support learning in future years.  The funds are managed by the Foundation’s Investment Committee that meets quarterly with investment bankers at Synovus Trust where funds are held.

Gifts may be endowed for the museum or for camp scholarships.

Museum

Gifts of any amount are welcome.

Scholarships

Gifts of any amount are welcome for the general scholarship endowed fund.  An endowed scholarship made in memory or tribute can be established with a gift of $44,500. The USSRC Education Foundation may use the annual interest earned and take up to 4.5 percent of the principal to fund a scholarship each year.

If a donor pays the entire minimum amount of $44,500 initially, the scholarship is fully endowed and the USSRC Education Foundation will grant a scholarship annually, even if the minimum increases in subsequent years.

If a donor elects to start an account and pay installments over three years, the minimum amount may increase due to market conditions.  In this case, the amount to endow will be the average during the payment period. The donor must initially pay fifty percent of the initial minimum, if taking this option.
