Radiologist

Dr. Gretchen Green is a radiologist and educator who flew to space aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard as part of the NS-32 mission in 2025, becoming the first commercial woman physician astronaut.

A four-time Space Camp graduate and recipient of both the Right Stuff and Outstanding Camper awards, Dr. Green began her teaching journey as a Space Camp crew trainer while attending Brown University, leading high school students through simulated shuttle missions. She is now a proud parent of two Space Camp alumni—one of whom also completed Aviation Challenge—and remains a passionate advocate for STEM and history education.

A lifelong explorer with a commitment to service, she bicycled across the United States at age 16 to raise awareness for world hunger, and in 2022, journeyed to the North Pole. She completed medical training at Harvard, Yale, and Brown, and now teaches, coaches, and speaks full time to help others pursue their highest purpose and personal excellence.

She has served on the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation board since 2023 and previously served as Chair of the Space Camp Alumni Board.
