“Through these doors walk the world’s future astronauts, scientists, engineers and leaders.” Or so goes one of the signs located in the Space Camp® Habitat at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center® in Huntsville, Alabama. Since its establishment in 1982, hundreds of thousands of students and adults have come to Space Camp to live out their dreams and aspirations of being a part of human space exploration. For some of these Alumni, it is a fondly remembered week of education, fun and friends; for others, it has become a symbol, a badge of pride embodying the spirit of curiosity and inspiration.

The Space Camp Alumni Association (SCAA) is a world-wide community for Space Camp, Aviation Challenge, Space Camp Robotics, and many other Space Camp program graduates, who believe that their mission did not end once they earned their wings. The SCAA, working together with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation, seeks to support Space Camp through advocating for space-STEM education, celebrating our community’s accomplishments, engaging alumni to do good in their communities, and keeping alumni up-to-date with news and events from Space Camp.

Advocate

Space Camp’s mission to provide a transformational STEM education experience has always been at the core of the program. Through our own personal stories, the Space Camp Alumni Association hopes to show others the critical role Space Camp and similar programs play in creating the next generation STEM workforce and increasing science literacy and numeracy for everyone.

Celebrate

When asked about her own place as a role model for young women, astronaut Sally Ride once said, “If you can’t see it, you can’t be it.” The Space Camp Alumni Association aims to applaud and share the diversity of accomplishments and achievements of alumni from across the globe to inspire young people to dream big, no matter their background.

Engage

With more than 800,000 alumni from virtually every corner of the world, the community of Space Camp alumni has incredible potential to create meaningful change in their own communities. Whether it is volunteering to mentor children in STEM, organizing a space day at a local school, helping raise funds for Space Camp scholarships, or giving their time and expertise to an Alumni Association project, the alumni community has the chance to carry the mission and vision of Space Camp far beyond its location in Huntsville, Alabama.

Inform

Space Camp has changed a lot since 1982! The Space Camp programs and the campus of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center are constantly improving and evolving, and the Space Camp Alumni Association works with the Rocket Center and the Foundation to ensure alumni always have the latest information. Through newsletters, social media and special events, members of the association can keep up with the people, places and programs they love.

We Love Our Alumni

I’m eager to help you get involved with a local alumni chapter, attend an event, or learn more about how you can continue your mission.
