
Ms. Kathi Tew
Kathi Tew has been a member of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation board since September 2019. She serves as the COO/CFO of Baron Critical Weather Institute, a 501(c)(3) organization committed to enhancing critical weather research, education, and public safety across Alabama. Under Kathi’s leadership and in partnership with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, the Institute will launch an innovative and groundbreaking $2 million STEM-based exhibit titled "How We Know the Weather" in the spring of this year.
In addition to her position on the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation Board, Tew currently serves on the boards of the Huntsville Botanical Garden Foundation, the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Foundation, the National Children’s Advocacy Center, and Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley. Additionally, she is a member of the Museum of Art’s Foundation Board, chairs the Acquisitions & Collections Committee, and serves as an Ambassador to HudsonAlpha and Arts Huntsville.
She is a graduate of Leadership Greater Huntsville, L-27, past chair of alumni education, and was a Day Chair for the Flagship Program for six years. In addition, Tew has chaired over 30 fundraising events in the last 15 years, benefiting many non-profits across North Alabama. Under her leadership, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation’s Mad Scientist Bash became one of Huntsville’s most popular and profitable social events.
